The B’Gollies return from their successful NZ Tour!

Hello friends!

The B’Gollies are now back from their three week tour of The North and South Islands of New Zealand. The tour was filled with great gigs and audiences, epic mountain drives, sandwich stops, and we met many wonderful people along the way.

Our highlights include:
– A lovely afternoon concert at The Christchurch Folk Club
– Sitting in on a rehearsal of ‘Acapellago’ – a fantastic choir group run by Nikki Berry in Christchurch
– Playing at the historic Fairfield House in Nelson, which the owner Catherine has transformed into a buzzing artistic centre for the town.
– Sampling the delicious beer and food at The Mussel Inn, Onekaka
– The windy, beautiful mountain roads on our way to our gig at The River House, Wanaka.
– Stopping at ‘Puzzling World’ to run around their giant wooden maze – a highly necessary burning of energy for four very car-feverish B’Gollies – before heading to our concert at The New Edinburgh Folk Club, Dunedin.
– Checking out the workshop of Dunedin-based Luthier, Peter Madill, who has an extensive portfolio of beautifully crafted instruments from the guitar, lute and viol family.www.madillguitars.co.nz
– The fine food and wine served to us at Le Cafe, Picton.
– A wonderful house concert in Upper Hutt, organised by The Upper Hutt Mainly Acoustic Music Club.
– Playing in the old wooden school room that has been transformed into a great local cafe, The Bent Horseshoe, in Tokomaru.
– A full house at the Historic Village Hall in Tauranga
– Tasting the delicious wine and food at our concert at Peacock Sky Vineyard, Waiheke Island
– Meeting the locals at a great afternoon concert at Stargazers Bed and Breakfast, Kuaotunu
– A cosy concert by the fire at The Bunker, Devonport – we were delighted to hear the audience singing along with almost every chorus!

A big thank you to all of the venues and billets who hosted us on the tour, and to the wonderful volunteers who helped in organising many of our concerts – you are all helping to keep the live music industry alive through your continuing effort and support of our world’s touring artists.
