3.30-4.30 Lucy Wise

We will be joined by international flutist Aawa White from the Manhattan Institute of Music. Aawa has been studying contemporary music for three years in New York, and is about to embark upon her doctorate of music performance.

Lucy Wise has delighted audiences across Australia and internationally with her masterful storytelling, intricate ukulele and guitar playing and soulful voice. Drawing inspiration from her background in Appalachian and Celtic folk music, as well as legendary songwriters such as Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, Lucy’s songs sketch universally recognizable stories that are grounded in the realities of everyday experience. Her musical clarity and down-to-earth performance style captures the hearts of audiences wherever she goes.
“Wise is a natural storyteller, infusing songs with a sense of place so strong you can almost feel the dusty earth crunch beneath your feet as she sings.” (The Brag, Sydney).

We will also be announcing the speaker very soon!

We will be providing an optional lunch by donation from 1-2pm, by renowned chefs Sue Lewis and Di Sobel!! If you intend to attend the lunch, please RSVP to tarkineassociationvictoria@gmail.com before the 20th of June.
